As Chinese New Year brings a festive pause to the city, Gardens by the Bay offers a perfect escape for those seeking unique experiences during the quieter days of the season. For non-Chinese residents or visitors, it’s an ideal time to explore the cultural richness of Spring Blossoms:

This enchanting showcase captures the love, sacrifice, and tradition of the legendary tale of Bai Suzhen, the snake spirit known as Madam White Snake, and her mortal lover, Xu Xian.

1. Mosaiculture Marvel: Madam White Snake

At the heart of the Flower Dome lies a breathtaking 4.5-meter-tall floral sculpture of Madam White Snake. Meticulously crafted using mosaiculture, a horticultural art form that blends plants into intricate three-dimensional sculptures, this masterpiece is a living tribute to the elegance of Chinese folklore. Created in collaboration with Beijing Florascape, the sculpture invites visitors to admire its intricate beauty and symbolism.

2. Jixian Pavilion: A Romantic Backdrop

Step into the storybook charm of Jiangnan spring at the recreated Jixian Pavilion, where Bai Suzhen and Xu Xian first met on the misty shores of West Lake. The pavilion is adorned with a canopy of vibrant pink, orange, and yellow Kalanchoe blossfeldiana flowers, creating an immersive experience that captures the poetic allure of love and nature.

3. Pagodas: Symbols of Tradition

Adding depth to the display are two wooden pagoda models, Compassion and Longevity Pagoda and Thunder Peak Pagoda, on loan from the Asian Civilisations Museum. These iconic structures, often featured in myths and literature, connect visitors to the spiritual and architectural heritage of the Legend of the White Snake.

Beyond the storytelling elements, Spring Blossoms dazzles with over 1,000 dahlias, including five new varieties, symbolizing prosperity and renewal—perfect themes for the Year of the Snake.

To enhance the cultural journey, Flower Dome visitors can enjoy free entry to the Pagoda Odyssey 1915: From Shanghai to San Francisco exhibition at the Asian Civilisations Museum, showcasing a full collection of pagodas linked to the legend.
